Visit this historic home for the holidays!
The Abraham Staats House will be decked out in festive finery and offering light refreshments and seasonal music
for the Holiday at the Abraham Staats House! Built c. 1740, the house was home to the
Dutch Staats family for nearly two centuries and is now under the care of the Borough of South Bound Brook.
In recognition of its historic value, the house is listed on the NJ State and National registers of Historic
Places.
On Dec. 8 & 9 the Abraham Staats House will be open at no charge to the public from 1 pm – 4 pm.
On Dec. 8, the Madrigal Singers from Franklin Township High School will perform at 1 pm. Also on the 8th, the Hope Church Choir
will perform at 3 pm.
Come view the decorated rooms of the house, festively and individually decorated by local organizations
including Boy Scout Troop 42 & Students of Robert Morris School, Reformed Church of Bound Brook,
South Bound Brook Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and Friends of the Abraham Staats House.
Stroll through the many rooms, learn about the history of the home, and get in the holiday spirit as you enjoy
the seasonal decorations and holiday music of the 18th century played on the mountain and hammered dulcimer,
and fiddle throughout throughout the event by Tom Harabin.
The Abraham Staats House is located at
17 Von Steuben
Lane, South Bound Brook, NJ 08880.
